Sharon (Witt) Bourne, 81, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sharon Anne Witt was born in Chadron, Nebraska on October 30, 1943 to Doyle โShortyโ and Alice (Lund) Witt, being welcomed home by sisters Mary Louise, Alice Faye, and Margaret Avis. She later welcomed baby brother DeWayne.
Sharon grew up and attended school in Chadron, graduating from Chadron High School in 1962. She was married to Bryan Bourne, from Rushville, Nebraska, on November 1, 1969. They lived in Hay Springs as they welcomed the adoption of their children Ty and Anne. They raised their family in Bassett, Nebraska and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sharon worked various jobs through the years. She started as a telephone operator with MA Bell telephone company in Chadron, provided many years of home daycare in Hay Springs and Bassett, at Security Florist and finally retired from Widefield School District #3 in 2008 where she finished her career as a bus monitor.
Sharon enjoyed reading and crafting such as cross stitch, Christmas ornaments and crochet. She gave many gifts of her talents to family and friends. She was a collector of angels, nativities and friends.
Sharon is survived by her children, Ty (Melanie) Bourne of Gordon, Nebraska, and Anne (Greg) Stevens of Sidney, Nebraska, grandchildren Shelby (Brice) Stangle and Ethan Bourne of Gordon, Karalyn and Robert Stevens of Sidney and brother DeWayne (Sharon) Witt of Colorado Springs and generations of nieces, nephews and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bryan Bourne, her parents, Shorty and Alice Witt, sisters Faye (Bob) Allgood, Margaret Rejician and Mary Louise Witt.
Services will be held at a later date at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
