Two cases of shoplifting were reported in Chadron Sunday.
The first occurred in the 1200 block of West Highway 20, when a 35-year-old male was cited for shoplifting. Lt. Walz of the Chadron Police Department said the man was belligerent to a clerk, before eating a slice of pizza and taking a bag of chips, both without paying, at just after 1 a.m.Â
That evening, around 7:15 p.m., an adult male attempted to purchase an estimated $200 in goods in the 1000 block of Third Street. When his card was declined, he walked out with the products and drove away. Lt. Walz said the incident remains under investigation as they attempt to identify the suspect.
