A 1987 Graduate of Hay Springs High School was killed in a single vehicle accident Friday morning south of Kimball. Fifty five year old Daryl Scherbarth of Sidney was killed when he apparently lost control of the vehicle he was driving southbound on highway 71 near the airport and county road 28 when he ran into the ditch on the northbound side of the highway. He over-corrected and rolled his car, landing on the right hand side of the road.
The Nebraska State Patrol is in charge of the investigation of the crash.
