Funeral Services for 55-year old Sonny Mousseaux are Sat, Feb 18, 2023 at noon at the American Horse School in Allen, SD, with Pastor Tim Wardell officiating and traditional Lakota services by Ron Jumping Eagle and Ayapaha John “Binky” DuBray.
Burial is at the Church of God Cemetery in Allen.
A one-night wake service starts Friday, Feb 17, at 3:00 at the American Horse School in Allen.

Sonny Craig Mousseaux was born on July 13, 1967, in Pine Ridge, SD, to Dan Mousseaux Jr and Marlene A Salway and was raised in Allen by his great-grandparents Oliver “Ed” Little Horse and Christina (Salway) Little Horse. Sonny made his journey to the Spirit World on Feb 4, 2023, at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Sonny is survived by his wife Sondra Sitting Bear; siblings Iris Renee Salway (Paul Adachi), Dennis Mousseaux, Bernie Barnes, Edward Mousseaux, Monte Yellow Hair, James Mousseaux, Carol Rouillard, James Mousseaux, Danetta Mousseaux, Malinda Shangreaux, and Seth Salway; maternal uncles Robert Red Shirt, Seth Ruff Jr, John DuBray, Russell Whirlwind Horse, Art “Tezi” Ruff, Bud Waters “Salway”, Melvin Young, “Sambo” DuBray, Orval Milk Sr, and Carl Broken Rope; aunts Charlene May, Annabelle Black Bear, Violet Black Bear, Helen Flood, Rose Red Shirt, and Colene Bald Eagle.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father,Dan Mousseaux Jr; mother Marlene A Salway; and brothers Ernie Dan Mousseaux “Chop” and Marvin “Pix” Mousseaux.
