Burial is at the Wolf Creek Community Cemetery in Wolf Creek-Pine Ridge
Visitation is Friday, Oct 20, 4:00-5:00 at the Sophia Yellow Boy residence 3 Miles east of Pine Ridge, followed at 5:00 by a two-night wake service at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge.

Sophia Gloria Yellow Boy was born on August 28, 1949 in Pine Ridge to Levi Yellow Boy and Athelia White Whirlwind. Sophia made her journey to the Spirit World on October 8, 2023 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
Sophia is survived by her daughter Janell (Frank) Raney of Rapid City; sons Fred Harlen Yellow Boy and Daryl Waters. both of Rapid City, and Ernie Waters Jr of Pine Ridge; siblings Bunny (John) O’Mara of Merrillville, IN; Charlotte White Whirlwind of Bowman, ND; Fred (Sandy) Yellow Boy, David Gibbons, and Herman White Whirlwind. all of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Kyleen, Allison, Shannon, Brenden, Chace, Kaydin, Tylend, Tyson, Tyrell, Harlen, Cory, Antonio, and Seaira; and great-grandchildren Sharon & Kaliyah, Dominic, Sophia, Alayna, Jace, and Adonnis.
Sophia was preceded in death by her spouse Ernie Eli Waters Sr; daughter Crystal Eileen Waters; sister Carol Barbara Yellow Boy; brothers Thomas “Tomahawk” Yellow Boy and Stanley Yellow Boy; granddaughter Candice Broken Rope; great grandson Dontae Jole Eli Broken Rope; great granddaughters Athelia Whalen and Presley Lopez; nephews Fredlynn “Donutz” Yellow Boy and Gregory Fayson; uncle Leroy Waters; aunts Hanna Yellow Boy and Margrette Catches; and nieces Charmine O’mara and Margaret Yellow Boy.
Gloria will be honored to have her loved ones carry her one last time – Kyleen Waters, Allison Bagola, Shannon Raney, Kaydin Raney, Brenden Raney, Chace Raney, Tylend Waters, Tyson Waters, Tyrell Waters, Harlen Hamilton, Roger Bissonette Sr, Clifton Waters, Briana Waters, Lonnie Waters, John “Goose” Waters, and Frank Raney.
