The South Dakota State Historic Preservation Office of the State Historical Society is preparing for it’s federal fiscal year 2025 grant application and is looking for public comment through October 31st on the state’s preservation needs and projects.
The SHPO is interested in public input on the topics of properties or areas to be inventoried, properties to be considered for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places, properties that are at-risk or endangered and technical preservation assistance that is most beneficial for maintaining historic properties.
Public input on those topics will help the South Dakota Historic Preservation Office prepare an annual work plan to continue emphasizing efforts throughout the state.
