Former Nebraska football coach Mike Riley has been named the coach of the year in the new USFL.
Leading the New Jersey Generals, Riley helped his team bounce back from a season opening loss to capture the top seed in the playoffs.
Riley coached at Nebraska from 2015-2018, leading the Huskers to a 19-19 record in his three seasons.
New Jersey meets Philadelphia in the USFL playoffs on Saturday.
