State Basketball Brings Big Crowds to Lincoln from Across Nebraska

Loading

Basketball stars from across the state are traveling to the NSAA Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments, but fans can be the MVP of the road by ensuring safe travel for all on the road to Lincoln. Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol will be working overtime across the next two weeks to keep all travelers safe on Nebraska roadways.

“We’re looking for buzzer beaters and championship moments during the state basketball tournaments this year,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “These tournaments create memories that last a lifetime, but we want to make sure those memories are of the action on the court rather than a tragedy on the road.”

The NSAA Girls Basketball Tournament runs from today, February 28, through Saturday, March 2. The NSAA Boys Basketball Tournament runs from March 6 through March 9.

Troopers will be performing high-visibility patrols across the state as teams and fans from across Nebraska travel to and from Lincoln. This operation is made possible thanks in part to grants from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
