The Nebraska Boys and Girls State Wrestling Tournaments begin today in Omaha and Dennis Brown is there to bring us live play-by-play coverage of the wrestlers from the Northern Panhandle.
There are 10 of them: 4 from Chadron, 3 from Gordon-Rushville, 2 from Crawford, and one from Hay Springs.
      Up first at 8:30 am MT are the Class B and C Boys, which for us means Chadron’s defending state champion Quinn Bailey at 155 and Zane Cullers at 165 along with Gordon-Rushville’s 144-lb Kyler Vincent and 106-lb Jaxon Kearns.
The second session, which starts at 2:00 pm, has Boys A and D plus the girls, who have just one class. Crawford has 2 boys – Colton Mader at 150 and Cody Holmgren at 157 while 113-lb Jarhett Anderson is the lone qualifier from Hay Springs.
On the girl’s side are Chadron’s Josie Werner at 100-lbs and Fia Rasmussen, who placed 6th last year, at 145, while Gordon-Rushville has 135-lb Lainey Filmore
