Funeral services for 92-year old Stella Flying Hawk-Black Bear are Thurs, March 24, 2022 at 1:00 at St Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson, SD, with The Rev Harold Eagle Bull officiating.
Burial is at St Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery in Rockyford, SD
Visitation precedes the funeral from 11:00 – 1:00 at St Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Manderson
Stella Flying Hawk-Black Bear was born on April 19, 1929 in Rockyford, SD to Philip Flying Hawk and Lucy (Ten Fingers) Flying Hawk. Stella made her journey to the Spirit World on March 15, 2022 at the Avantara Mountain View Assisted Living in Rapid City, SD.
Stella is survived by her husband, Enos Black Bear; nieces, Dorothy Tail and Evelyn Protector; and grandchildren from her cousin, Hannah Black Fox; Agnes Westover, Kathy Rowland, Shirley Bear Robe, Berta Twiss, Faye Charging Thunder, and Patrick Randall; from Dave Flying Hawk; Rose Cottier, Kathryn Cottier, Alberta Cottier, Ken Cottier, Bert Cottier, Stanley Flaying Hawk, Andrew Fly, Frank Borjeck, Stephanie Cottier, and Andrew Cottier.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Lucy (Ten Fingers) Flying Hawk; step-mother, Jennie Flying Hawk; brothers, Dave, Andrew, Ernest, and Albert Flying Hawk; sisters, Louise Black Tail Deer, Esther Protector, and Josephine Flying Hawk; and sons, Melvin Quiver and Larry Black Bear.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Randall, Dion Quick Bear, Jesse Westover, Jared Randall, Ken Cottier, Andrew Fly, and Frank Borjeck.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
