Burial is at St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine, SD
A one-night wake service starts Wed, Nov 9, 2022 at 3:00 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD, with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.
Stewart Wayne Mousseaux Jr “Hoksila Inyanka” was born on August 28, 1985 in Rapid City, SD to Stewart Mousseaux Sr and Janese (LaDeaux) Mousseaux. Stewart made his journey to the Spirit World on October 30, 2022 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Stewart is survived by his parents Stewart Mousseaux Sr of Pine Ridge and Janese Mousseaux of Rapid City; daughter Kendra Hansen; son Connor Mousseaux; sisters Lucy Mousseaux, Makayla Mousseaux, and Monique (Phil) Mousseaux, all of Rapid City; brothers Louis (Priscilla) Mousseaux of Gordon, NE, and Michael White Eyes of Pine Ridge; grandparents Florence Janis of Rapid City, Kathy Janis and David Janis, and Elton Mousseaux of Porcupine, SD; uncles Hobart Yankton of Manderson, SD, Sam LaDeaux Jr of Denver, CO, John LaDeaux of Pine Ridge, Steven LaDeaux, Fred Mousseaux, James LaDeaux, Loren LaDeaux, Michael Red Cloud, and Mervin LaDeaux all of Rapid City, David Janis, and Rick Swain; aunts, RoseAnne LaDeaux and Colleen Steele both of Manderson, Marilyn Winters of Pine Ridge, Lori Dryden of Chadron, NE, and Arlene Allen of Canton, SD; nieces Shaylynn Mousseaux, Misti Blevins, and Michalya White Eyes; godson Brent Eisenbraun; and goddaughter, Emmajo Eisenbraun.
Stewart was preceded in death by his grandmothers Rebecca Mousseaux, Shirley Pacer, and Lucy (Janis) LaDeaux; grandfather Samuel LaDeaux; aunt Pam Pourier; uncles David “Speedy” Allen and Michael “Tank” Yankton; and great-grandparents Louis Mousseaux, Isabelle Mousseaux, Louis “Jaybow” Mousseaux, Alfreda (Richard) Janis, David Janis, Bessie (Kills Small) LaDeaux, and Eugene LaDeaux.
Pallbearers will be Michael LaDeaux, Reno Red Cloud Sr, James Blevins, Alkapone White Calf, Dale Martin, Corwin Good Crow, Tony Vocu, and Joey Pourier.
