The Chadron Fur Trade Days Committee says Saturday’s street dance to benefit it and the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department raised enough money to present over $500.to the fire department at the end of the event.
The two groups split all proceeds
Money was raised through special T-shirts and the sale of special cups that allowed alcohol to go out of liquor establishments as long as the individual stayed within the designated concert area – much the same as during Fur Trade Days but on a smaller scale.
Fur Trade Days Committee President Dave Hockenbary says the concert was set up to help thank the firefighters for their service both during Fur Trade Days and year-round.
Hockenbary says special thanks also go out Saturday’s band, the Bar Flies, the Chadron Police Department, primary host The Ridge, and the evening’s other sponsors for making the night “a great, family-friendly event.
