Student’s Threat To “Shoot It Up” Leads To Lockdown At Sidney High School

Loading

A Sidney High School student was taken into custody Thursday after allegedly telling classmates not to come to school today because he was “going to shoot it up.” The teen’s name has not been released.

Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says Sidney High officials learned of the threat shortly before 2:00 and contacted police, with both Sidney police officers and Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Deputies responding.

The student had already left the school, which was placed in lockdown, but was found at his home and taken into custody. The lockdown was lifted at that point. .
