Susie May Iron Rope was born on May 6, 1981 in Pine Ridge, SD to Paul John Iron Rope, Jr. and Maxine Spotted Elk. Susie made her journey to the Spirit World on September 15, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Susie is survived by her sons, Richard Ashley, Jr., Damius Spotted Elk and Savon Doyle; daughters, Lareese Spotted Elk, Maxine Iron Rope, Claudia Good Shield and Jacina Iron Rope; brothers, Calvin Iron Rope, Paul Iron Rope and Rydell Iron Rope; sisters, Cathy Iron Rope, Audrey Iron Rope, Joanette Iron Rope, Mary Iron Rope and Suzie Sadek; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Susie was preceded in death by her brother, Trudell Iron Rope; sisters Dena Iron Rope and Valene Iron Rope; mothers, Maxine Spotted Elk; father John Paul Iron Rope; grandmothers, Martha Cutt and Susie Horn Chipps; grandfathers, John Paul Iron Rope, Sr. and Homer Spotted Elk.
Pallbearers will be Connie Conquering Bear, Michael “Mikey” Marshall, Corey Marshall, Sydney Iron Rope, Jamie High Horse, Wiluta Milk, Kelly Winters and Zavion “Z-Beau” Standing Bear.
