SWANN, the Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska, is taking advantage of today’s cold and snowy weather to burn one of the two brush pits at the Chadron transfer station.
Executive Director Jack Nemeth says one of the two pits is completely full while the other is about 3/4ths full, so he’s glad the weather has given him the chance to burn the full pit – emphasizing that he cleared it first with Chadron Fire Chief Branden Martens.
Smoke from the fire on the east side of Chadron could continue for a day or two, depending on the weather.
