Heavy rain overnight has closed the SWANN – Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska – landfill northwest of Chadron for today.
    Operations Director Jake Stewart says the rain left the ground too wet to work, so the landfill won’t be opened.
Stewart expects to see regular hours at the SWANN landfill again tomorrow.
