Tatuye Topa “Tate” Baker-Running Hawk was born on July 1, 2003 in Pine Ridge, SD to Dawn Baker. Tate made his journey to the Spirit World on August 16, 2024 near Rapid City, SD.
Tate is survived by daughter, Nova Lee Mousseaux; mother, Dawn Baker; siblings, Cody Clifford, Jr., Elfreda Baker, Dante Baker, Lakota Olowan Baker, Lavayah Baker, Julian Baker, Xavier Twiss, and Nathaniel No Leaf; maternal grandparents, Julie Lakota; cousins, Gerald Baker, Jr., Taylor Williams, Rylan & Bryton Baker; uncles, Mark Lakota, Gerald Baker, Sr., Marcus Baker, Mike Bernie, Jr., OJ Bernie, Daniel Young, and Jared Young; aunts, RaeAnne Young, Tonia Young, Kateri Niess, Krista Niess, and Autumn Baker; and grandparents, Kerry Niess, Gloria Lakota, and Regina Tobacco.
Tate was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mark Baker; and great grandparents, Herbert & Elfreda (Lakota) Huapapi.
Pallbearers are Gerald Baker, Jr., Taylor Williams, Bradley Jeffries, Sterlin Acoren, Mark Lakota, Patrick Mousseaux, Kayson Bettelyoun, and Charlize Bettelyoun.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family, friends, and extended family.
