Runza is holding TeamMates Days this coming Tuesday, Sept 20th, and will donate 10% of proceeds that day from all its locations across Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa to the TeamMates Mentoring Program.
TeamMates was founded by Nebraska Hall of Fame football coach Tom Osborne in 1991 with a mission to positively impact the world by pairing at-risk students with mentors to inspire them to reach their full potential.
Runza spokesman Brooke Samuelson says this is the 13rh consecutive year the restaurant chain has supported Teammate Days, calling Runza and TeamMates “a perfect pairing”
Samuelson says that’s because Runza loves to help youth and TeamMates wants to have mentors for as many youth as possible across the State of Nebraska.
Sherri Daniels is the Teammates coordinator in Chadron and says the financial support from Runza through Teammate Days gives the program a nice boost.
Daniels also says Teammates is always looking for adults willing to become a mentor and meet with a child once a week. Anyone interested can email her at sheridan.m.daniels@gmail.com
