The DOVES Program and Chadron Open Art Present a Powerful Art Exhibition Amplifying Survivor Voices

The DOVES Program
The DOVES Program, in collaboration with Chadron Open Art, is proud to present Tell Your Story: A Survivor-Centered Showcase. This powerful showcase invites survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and other forms of trauma to share their experiences through art, offering a platform Where Every Story Finds Its Voice. where their voices can be heard and honored.
The exhibit will be on display at Chadron Open Art throughout April 2025 in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, with a special Opening Reception on April 5, 2025.
Call for Artist Submissions
Survivors, advocates, and community members are encouraged to submit original artwork that represents their stories of resilience and healing. All artistic mediums are welcome, including painting, sculpture, spoken word, digital art, photography, and mixed media. There are no limits on the size or format of submissions.

- Anonymous Submissions Accepted: Submissions can be displayed anonymously. If no pickup instructions are provided, the artwork will be donated to The DOVES Program Survivor Art Wall to inspire others.
For those who may need assistance in creating their piece, free Art Kits are available. Each kit contains supplies such as canvases, paints, and sketchpads to make participation accessible to all. Professionals working with survivors—including therapists, counselors, and social workers—are encouraged to request kits for their clients and facilitate submissions.

“Art has the power to heal, to empower, and to tell stories that words alone cannot capture,” said Jody Motz, Client Advocate and Community Educator with The DOVES Program. “This exhibit is not just about art—it’s about creating a space where survivors can express themselves safely and be seen, heard, and supported by the community.”
