Update: Fire has been reported to be 100% contained.
Dawes County fire crews went into the weekend battling a 10 acre fire in heavy timber that was reported shortly after 4 o’clock Friday afternoon.
Great Plains Fire Information says the Clay Creek Fire is located 7 miles southeast of Crawford. Two SEAT planes were deployed for retardant drops. No information about containment has been reported as of Saturday morning. This fire comes after an aggressive series of storms swept through the area Thursday afternoon and evening.
