The primary reason for the American revolution was not about taxation without representation which the Colonists could have born with nothing but a loss of dignity. The STAMP ACT of March 22, 1765, demanded that the stamps be paid for in British currency that the Colonists did not have and were not allowed to obtain by trading with alien nations.
The debt trap was set! The Colonists would have to borrow from and go into debt to the bank of England in order to pay the tax. Freedom from Debt bondage precipitated the Revolution. This fundamental truth was not emphasized.
After the war, the PRINCIPLE of the 1792 Coinage Act enabled America to establish a debt free medium of exchange. This PRINCIPLE is NOT ABOUT returning to gold or silver coins for money or to the “gold standard.’ It’s about restoring the PRINCIPLE of a debt-free medium-of-exchange; that which represents our production, monetized as wealth to us not as debt to us.
Any person who worked to produce gold or silver bullion could take it to our U.S. Mint which would ‘monetize’ (turn into money) the raw resource by assaying, weighing and stamping it into coins Free of Charge.
Work was done first. Money was created debt-free with the increase in productivity. The money ‘represented’ our production, wealth, ownership and benefited everyone equally as everyone could buy, sell, save and do commerce without having to be in debt. Free people! Truly free trade! The results would be the same if we applied the PRINCIPLE to our Public roads and bridges.
Over 141 years from 1792 to 1933, Congress passed bad laws which changed the medium of exchange from wealth to debt. The PRINCIPLE that once made Americans economically free was changed. We no longer OWNED our money. Now, we OWE the money. Government, business and individuals are debt slaves, in debt to ‘a King’ for every penny and suffering its destructive consequences.
