Funeral services for 55-year old Theresa Lawrencia Hunter are Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:00 at the Edelyn Catches residence in Calico Community, Pine Ridge, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Pete Catches
Burial is at the Hunter Family Cemetery, also in the Calico Community
A one-night wake service begins Monday, July 19, at 6:00, also at the Edelyn Catches residence in the Calico Community
Theresa Lawrencia Hunter was born in Calico, SD to Lawrence Darwin Stifftail-Hunter and Ivalyon Rose (Catches) Hunter. Theresa made her journey to the Spirit World on July 11, 2021 in Chadron, NE.
Theresa is survived by her children, Brenanne Dawn Hunter and William Darwin Hunter; siblings, Caroline Hunter, Ralph J. Hunter, Edelyn ‘Sis’ Catches, Emily Catches, June Catches, and Nola Tobacco; grandchildren, Sha’Laya Sue Shott, E’Leighcya Ann Hunter, Ayla Hunter, and Tiana L. Hunter; and great grandchildren, Alfernando Hunter, Marshawn Hunter, Montel Hunter, Jesse Iron Horse, and Jontay Iron Horse.
Theresa was preceded in death by her significant other, Joseph Red Star, Sr.; parents, Lawrence D. Stifftail-Hunter and Ivalyon Catches; brothers, Lawrence Hunter, Jr., Bernie Red Cloud, Georgie Hunter, and Peter Ignitious; sister, Karyn Louise Hunter; nephews, Jacob “Jayce” Iron Horse, Jr., Jamar Iron Horse and Jamie L. Iron Horse; nieces, Misty R. Hunter, Jackie Lynn Iron Horse, and Danielle Jade Iron Horse; and Hunka sister, Patricia White Bear Claws.
