The Trading Stories Native American Movie Festival returns to the Chadron Public Library for its 7th year Thursday, but tonight is the pre-festival with two films dedicated to bringing awareness to human trafficking.
At 6:00, it’s Fortress of Sin, an independent film shot in this area with a largely local cast that had its world premiere this summer in Gordon. There will be a discussion afterward with some members of the production team.
At 7:30, the documentary Bring Her Home will be shown. It’s about human trafficking and the disappearance of Native American women.
Trading Stories is put on by the Chadron Public Library and the Library Foundation to showcase and acknowledge the contribution of the Lakota people and culture to the history of Northwest Nebraska and highlight contemporary Native issues.
All Trading Stories activities are free and open to the public at the Chadron Public Library on the corner of 4th and Bordeaux.
