The Nebraska State Patrol seized over 250 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $9-million dollars during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 about 15 miles west of North Platte last week.

Spokesman Cody Thomas says a trooper was patrolling near Hershey last Thursday morning about 11:30 when he stopped an SUV for a license plate violation.

During the traffic stop, a State Patrol K-9 trooper detected the odor of a controlled substance inside the vehicle, leading to a search to revealed 258 pounds of cocaine.

The driver, 31-year old Steven Windoloski of Massena, NY, was arrested for possession of more than 140 grams of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp. Windoloski was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail.
