Trump Holding “Phone Rally” For Herbster

Former President Donald Trump, who shared his Sunday night rally in Nebraska with Republican gubernatorial hopeful Charles Herbster, will join Herbster tonight (Thursday) in a virtual rally.

Trump is hosting an hour-long “telephone rally” at 5:00 MT for anyone who wants to hear more about why the ex-president thinks Herbster should be the next governor of Nebraska.

The phone number is  (308) 210-7274.

Trump held a similar phone rally in Ohio for author J-D Vance, who won the GOP primary for U-S Senate on Tuesday. He endorsed Vance earlier this year, but gave his blessing to Herbster back in October.

Herbster is part of a 9-candidate field and is locked into a tight battle with University of Nebraska Regent Jim Pillen, who’s backed by Gov Pete Ricketts, and State Senator Brett Lindstrom. Recent polls have had the trio in a statistical tie.

Herbster said in a podcast yesterday with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon that his internal polling shows him “maintaining” a slight lead, but a new poll taken over the weekend for the Pillen campaign gives him the lead with Lindstrom dropping back.

A Pillen survey taken last Wed-Thurs had him at 24%, Pillen at 23%, and Lindstrom 20% with 24% undecided, but the new poll covering Sat-Mon puts Pillen at 31% with Herbster at 26%, Lindstrom 16% and 19% undecided with a 4.4% margin of error.

The latest fundraising reports show Herbster has raised and spent the most by far, but with almost all the money coming from his own pockets. He’s raised $11.8-million but $11.8-million was his own money. He has about $772,000 cash-in-hand.

Pillen has brought in $8.4-million, including several large self-donations or loans, and has $1.5-million left. Lindstrom has raised $2.52-million with only $50,000 of his own money. He has $486,000 cash-on-hand.

Democrat Carol Blood has raised $147,000 to date with her campaign listing $49,591 cash-on-hand.
