The 26th Annual Duck Draw, the biggest fundraising event of the year for the United Way of Western Nebraska, is this Saturday in Scottsbluff and time is running out to purchase ducks.
United Way Executive Director Karen Benzel says ducks are available at several locations, including Apricot Lane/The New Leaf Marketplace in Chadron and Allo Communications in Alliance.
The easiest way to get a duck, especially for those in the Northern Panhandle, though is online at the United Way website www.uwwn.org – but online sales end today.
Benzel says you can purchase individual ducks for $10 each, get a Quacky Trio of 3 ducks for $25, or a Quacky Combo for $60.
The Duck Draw will be conducted at 10:30 Saturday at the 18th Street Plaza in Scottsbluff, but the Pre-Draw Family Festival starts at 9:00.
There are 35 prizes this year with the top prize a 2024 Chevrolet Trax, donated by Team Auto Center, with 2nd-prize a 2023 Honda Pioneer Side-bySide, donated by Sandberg Honda.
