The City of Crawford has unofficially recalled mayor Tom Phillips.

Voters cast ballots yesterday, and Dawes County Clerk Cheryl Feist said unofficially the
tally was 182 yes votes to 109 no votes. The results will not become official until the
canvassing board meets on Friday at 9:00 a.m.

According to Feist the charter for the City of Crawford allows the president of the council
to fill the vacant mayoral position if the vote tally holds.

Citizens attempted two recall petitions against Phillips, with the first failing to meet the
required number of signatures to call for a special recall election. Petitions alleged that
Phillips does not live within city limits and has a conflict of interest because his wife
handled financial records for the city owned golf course.
