Burial is at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee.

Valen Lynn Iron Rope was born on June 28, 1990 in Pine Ridge, SD to Paul John Iron Rope, Sr. and Maxine Spotted Elk. Valen made her journey to the Spirit World on December 7, 2021 in Casper, WY.
