Burial is at the Wolf Creek Community Cemetery in Wolf Creek

Valerie Hope Black Feather was born on January 26, 1963 in Pine Ridge, SD to Antoine Black Feather and Delores Grace (Hernandez) Black Feather. Valerie made her entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven on March 2, 2023, at the IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge.
Valerie is survived by her special friend of 31 years Harold LaPointe; sisters Francine Black Feather of Wolf Creek, SD, Cheryl Good Plume, Erlene Tail and Eldean Tail, all of Rapid City, SD; brothers Roscoe Black Feather, Alton and Tim Good Plume, and Jim Charge, all of Wolf Creek; Tom Rowland of Slimbuttes, SD and Reggie Rowland of Riverton, WY; grandfather Vincent Black Feather of Kyle, SD; nieces Jennifer Black Feather of Pine Ridge, Celeste Grace Black Feather, Christa Featherman, and Misty Dawn Black Feather, all of Wolf Creek, Diedra Black Feather of Allen, SD, Michelle Black Feather of Manhattan, KS, and Shalimar BeGay of Las Vegas, NV; nephews Jack Black Feather of Wolf Creek, SD, Michael Black Feather of Manhattan, KS, and Gamalio BeGay of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren; aunts Dora Good Plume, Evangeline Fast Horse, and Mary Condon, all of Wolf Creek, Janice and Joy One Feather, both of Kyle, Cleo Black Feather, Marlene James, and Jeni Black Feather, all of Pine Ridge; uncles Bluch Black Feather and Bob Montgomery, both of Rapid City, Merle Black Feather of Pine Ridge, John One Feather of Kyle, and Wayne Wasicuna of Sioux Valley Manitoba, Canada; and special pets Bear, Sugar, and Marilyn.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents Antoine Black Feather and Delores (Hernandez) Black Feather; siblings Dave, Michael, Jack, Tony, Nathan and Anna Black Feather; paternal grandparents Frank & Lucy Phoebe Black Feather; and maternal grandparents Joseph Hernandez and Mildred White Eyes.
Pallbearers will be Antone Black Feather, Brandon One Feather, Renaldo “Lotto” Two Bulls, Jared Red Cloud, Jack Black Feather, Nathan Kills Small, Jimi LaPointe, Myron Finneran, Tom Rowland, Pete Richards, and Jonathan Archambeau.
