Vergil Wayne Bad Wound was born on April 25, 1987 in Pine Ridge, SD to Baptiste DuBray, Jr. and LeeAnn Bad Wound. Vergil made his journey to the Spirit World on February 5, 2025 in Martin, SD.
Vergil was a very loving and caring person who was always happy! He had a little companion named “Queenie”. He was loved by many.
Vergil is survived by his mother, LeeAnn “Potsy” Bad Wound; grandmothers, Florine Conquering Bear, Christine Conquering Bear, and Roxanne Conquering Bear; grandfather, David Conquering Bear; brothers, Isaiah, Derrick, & Jordan DuBray; sister, Marjianna Bad Wound; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, granddaughters and grandsons.
Vergil was preceded in death by his father, Baptiste DuBray, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Louie Bad Wound & Margie “Beaka” Conquering Bear; paternal grandparents, Baptiste, Sr. & Alvina DuBray; uncle, Baptiste DuBray; aunt, Isabelle DuBray; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, granddaughters and grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Pete Conquering Bear, John Conquering Bear, Jordan Long Soldier, Colin Wilcox, Louie Bull Bear, Dalton Bettelyoun, Norman Standing Soldier, Johnny Pawnee Leggins, Patrick Reddy, Derrick Reddy, Ian Reddy, Mystic Kills In Sight, Noah Kills In Sight, Tristan Conquering Bear, Jordan Dubray, Nathan Salway, Anthony Miller, Brandon Miller, and John Boerschig, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
Wake Services: Two night wake starting at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the LaCreek CAP Office in Martin, SD with evening services being held at 7:00 PM each night.
