Verlie Phoebe Left Hand was born on March 17, 1934 in Pine Ridge, SDm to Annie “Jessie” Little Crow and George Yellow Boy. Verlie made her journey to the Spirit World on September 18, 2022 at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home near Pine Ridge, SD.
Verlie is survived by her children Georgia Left Hand, Lydia Left Hand, Virgil Left Hand, Emily Left Hand, and Virgil Charge On Him; cousins Dora Good Plume, Evangeline Fast Horse, and Mary Condon; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Verlie was preceded in death by her mother Annie “Jessie” Little Crow; father George Yellow Boy; spouse Jacob Left Hand; son Anthony Left Hand; siblings Winona Yellow Boy and Joseph Yellow Boy; and niece Sylvia Yellow Boy.
Pallbearers will be John Yellow Boy, Jason Left Hand, Paul Left Hand, Virgil Charge On Him, Phillip Standing Soldier, Duane Ghost Dog, Travis Condon, and Jeremy Franks
