Verne Red Elk was born on November 26, 1938 in Pine Ridge, SD to George Red Elk and Louise (LaDeaux) Red Elk. Verne made his journey to the Spirit World on November 27, 2021 in Rapid City, SD.
Verne is survived by his sisters, Agnes Red Elk, Dollie Red Elk and Ruth Red Elk; nephews, Dennis Red Elk, Mitchell Brewer, Delane Loafer, Martin Black Tail Deer and Steve Black Tail Deer; and nieces, Billi Schroeder, Denise Leanhart, Candace Heminger and Michelle Loafer.
Verne was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise (LaDeaux) Red Elk; siblings, Rosemary Red Elk, Phillip Red Elk, Moses Red Elk, Shirley Red Elk, Linda Red Elk and George Red Elk, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
Vern Red Elk was a veteran of the U-S Army and his arrangements are entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD
