The Sioux County Warriors opened the fall seasons with wins on the road.
The Warriors skated past Creek Valley in football and volleyball contests Friday to start the new year. On the gridiron, Sioux County breezed to a 54-6 victory, while the girls managed a sweep with scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-15.
The Sioux County ladies followed up their victory with a trip to the Hemingford for a triangular Saturday, where they went 1-1. The Hemingford Bobcats handed the Warriors a 25-19, 25-9 loss, but Sioux County bounced back for a 25-14, 25-8 victory over the Crawford Rams. Sierra Eastman had 20 service points in the Crawford match, serving seven consecutive points in the opening set and 13 in a row the second set.
The Warrior girls will face Bayard at home Tuesday night at 5 p.m. before traveling to Guernsey-Sunrise Thursday. Action will return to Sioux County Friday with a doubleheader against Banner County. Kickoff for the football game is scheduled at 1 p.m., to be followed by the volleyball match.
