The Sioux County Lady Warriors added a third win to their record on Homecoming Friday.

The Warriors swept Arthur County 25-23, 25-15, 25-22 to go 3-13 on the year.

Sioux County took an early 2-1 lead after an ace by Ella Hyer, but the set remained competitive the entire way. The score was tied 12 times during opening set, and each team led five different times. They traded set points until Arthur County opened up a 10-8 margin, but Sioux County capitalized on errors by the Wolves and Victoria Turbiville terminated on a kill to put the Warriors back on top 11-10. Sioux County went ahead 15-13, but the Wolves took the lead back and went ahead 21-18. Sierra Eastman gave the Warriors a kill that, combined with an Arthur County error, made it 22-20 for the Wolves. The Warriors kept fighting and a kill by Hyer put them within one. Another error by the Wolves and an ace serve by Turbiville closed the set with a win for Sioux County.

Sioux County opened the second set with another Hyer ace, a block by Kaylee Juhnke and a kill by Eastman as they raced out to a 4-1 lead. Kills by Eastman, Turbiville and Hyer, and an ace serve by Kaydy Potter kept the Warriors in it, but two attacking errors allowed Arthur County to tie the set at nine. Sioux County took the 11-10 lead on a serving error and used it to swing momentum their way for the rest of the set. From that point on, the Warriors five aces and five kills. Morgan Randall landed two aces in the final half, as did Potter.

Consecutive kills by Juhnke and Eastman gave the Warriors a 3-0 lead in the third set. They steamrolled Arthur County to a 15-6 lead, but Arthur regrouped and inched back into the game. The Wolves held Sioux County at 15 and 16 for three serves, then went on a 3-1 run followed by a 5-0 run to tie it at 19. Arthur took a 20-19, but the game was then tied at every set point from 20 to 22. Ace serves by Potter and Turbiville, and a kill by Hyer helped close out the match in favor of the Warriors.

The Warriors also dropped a Homecoming week contest against Edgemont on Thursday. The Moguls earned the sweep, 25-5, 25-9, 25-15.

Edgemont raced to a 6-0 lead in the first and extended that to a 10-1 advantage before breezing to the win. The second set started in the same fashion, with the Moguls up 3-0 before eventually leading 16-5. Sioux County led 1-0 in the third after a Juhnke block and 2-1 after an Eastman kill. The set was tied at set points four through six before the Moguls took the lead for good. In spite of the lopsided scores, there were several long rallies between the two teams.
