Warriors Fifth at Panhandle Conference

The Sioux County Warriors were 1-1 in Panhandle Conference action and took fifth place in the tournament.

The Warriors opened the tournament with a 66-29 loss to Morrill. The Lions shut out the Warriors 13-0 in the first quarter. Sioux County got on the board in the second with a 12-9 run, to make it 22-12 at half-time, but a big second half showing by the Lions put the game out of reach. Morrill netted 44 points in the second half and held the Warriors to 17. Cy Hughson led Sioux County with 11 points. Shane Gluth contributed six points, while William Skavdahl  and Jack Hunter added five each and Colton Randall had two. Tiege Whetham led the Lions with 18.

In the contest for fifth place, the Warriors picked up their fourth win of the season with a 37-19 showing over Edgemont. The Warriors led 11-6 in early action and were up 20-13 at the break. Sioux County used runs of 7-4 and 10-2 to maintain its advantage to cruise to the win. Randall led the Warriors with 11 points. Skavdahl added seven and Hunter had eight points. Logan Monroe contributed five points, while Gluth netted four.
