The Sioux County Warriors improved to 9-7 and took third place at the Morrill Invite Saturday after a 2-1 showing.
The Warriors opened the tournament in action against Banner County and easily earned the two-set sweep 25-14, 25-18. Next up was a contest against Lingle-Fort Laramie. Sioux County won a tight 25-21 first set but lost a nailbiter in the second 23-25 to set up a third. Lingle-Fort Laramie’s momentum continued in the final set, and they rolled to a 25-13 victory to advance to the championship and send Sioux County to the consolation match.
The Warriors were paired against Minatare in the third-and-fourth place bracket. They dominated the match, winning in sets of 25-15, 25-12.

The Warriors will take on Edgemont Thursday at home at 5 p.m. Sioux County’s football and volleyball teams will celebrate Homecoming Friday starting with football at 2 p.m. against Cody-Kilgore.
