Friday morning, KCSR was informed that the water boil mandate that has been in effect for the village of Whitney and residents served by the Dawes County Rural Water District since late June of this year, has now been lifted.
The boil mandate had only been issued as a precautionary measure as Dawes County Rural Waterโs District #1 system had failed a regular bacteria water test. The mandate was to be lifted after two consecutive passing tests and now, the water is safe to drink.
