The Chadron Volunteer Fire Department made a quick knock down of a fully involved structure fire that broke out in Chadron this past weekend
Crews were dispatched at 2:00 Saturday afternoon to a third party report of a detached garage on fire on the 300 block of Maple Street. The first fire units showed up to a fully involved garage on fire and a trailer residence at risk for exposure.
Although fire crews were able to save the residence from damage, the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department stated in a media post that the garage is considered a total loss.
According to Chadron Fire Chief Branden Martens, one party was transported to Chadron Community Hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation.
Martens says although it appears to be accidental, the cause is undetermined at this time, and a Fire Marshal Investigator is being brought in to investigate.
