William C Mohr, along with his twin brother Robert, was born on November 26, 1927, to Earnest and Minnie Mohr in Omaha, NE.   Bill passed away on February 8, 2023, while under the wonderful care at Crestview Care Center in Chadron.

Bill graduated from Wranch School, a K-10 country school near the family farm, 15 miles South of Blair, NE.  After serving his time in the Army, Bill married the love of his life, Dorothy Mohr. on February 26, 1949.

They soon had their own farm just a mile east of his childhood farm.  To that union was born five children: Albert, Barbara, Jeanine, Becky, and Gary.

Besides farming, they established a fertilizer business on the farm while raising and feeding lots of sheep and cattle.

Bill was actively involved in his community and served on the Wranch School Board, the Washington Co Farm Bureau board, and his church’s council.

In 1976, oldest son Albert became part of the family farm operation.  Bill and Dorothy semi-retired in 1990 and moved off the farm into a full time RV while Albert and his family moved onto the home place.

For the next 30 years, Bill and Dorothy would return to help with the busy spring planting and fall harvest while spending their summers in Vergas, MN. where they fished often and Bill would ride his jet ski almost daily.

Winters took them to Texas – the last few years in McAllen. where they frequented numerous music performances and polka dances.

They completely retired in 2011 and eventually their traveling ceased and they moved to Chadron to be near their daughter Jeanine.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, older sister Helen Mohr and twin brother Robert.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 74 years, Dorothy, his children Albert (Robin) Mohr, Omaha; Barbara (Edwin) Malina, Prague; Jeanine Mohr, Chadron; Becky (Steve) Wiederspan, Prague; and Gary Mohr, Stamford, CT; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Chamberlain Chapel is in charge of arrangements for Bill Mohr.
