William Henry (Bill) Osmotherly was born November 27, 1935 in Hot Springs, SD to Rupert and Veronica (Martin) Osmotherly. Bill went to be with Jesus on October 5, 2021.

He grew up and worked on the family ranch south of Hot Springs called Teepee Creek and attended the Maitland School through the 8th grade. While attending a dance in Custer, SD, Dakota, Bill met the love of his life, Ethel Louise Parsons.

They were married on November 24, 1957, and went on to celebrate 63 years of marriage. Born to this union were four sons: Richard William, Robert Rue, Steven Allen, and Keith Eugene.

Bill was a hard worker and farmed and ranched until he found the other love of his life —trucking. He first hauled machinery for two implement dealers and eventually hauled cattle to beef packing plants in western Nebraska and northern Colorado before retiring at the age of 84.

Bill enjoyed many activities throughout his life including horse riding and roping, square dancing, attending his sons’ and grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with his family, and telling stories of his trucking adventures. He made friendships easily and treasured all of them.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister Edith Romey.

Survivors include his wife Ethel of Crawford, NE, sons Richard (Shannon) of Torrington, WY, Robert (Jeanne) of Crawford, Steve (Wendy) of Moorcroft, WY, Keith (Janice) of Gillette, WY, 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by brother Jim (Sandy) Osmotherly of Oelrichs, SD, sisters-in-law Dorothy Pennel of Custer, SD, Carol Lulf of Scottsbluff, NE, and Shirley Parsons of Custer, along with many nieces and nephews
