Funeral services for 70-year old William Jumping Eagle Sr are  Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 1:00 at the Jumping Eagle Ranch in Manderson, SD, with Pastor Matt Hadden officiating and traditional Lakota Services by Mr Mike Little Boy

Burial is at the Jumping Eagle Family Cemetery in Manderson

A two-night wake starts Sunday, November 14, at 4:00 at the Wounded Knee District School in Wounded Knee, SD. The second night starts Monday at 1:00 at the Jumping Eagle Ranch in Manderson

William Oliver Jumping Eagle, Sr. was born on July 12, 1951 in Pine Ridge, SD to Robert Jumping Eagle, Sr. and Rebecca Looks Twice. William made his journey to the Spirit World on November 7, 2021.

William is survived by his spouse, Donna Jumping Eagle; daughters, Arlene Jumping Eagle, Sarita (Thad) Richard, Irene (Josh) Jumping Eagle, Elizabeth (Derek) Jumping Eagle, Francine (Darin) Jumping Eagle, Rebecca (Tom) Jumping Eagle, Sarah Jumping Eagle, Katie Hernandez, and Georgia LaDeaux; sons, William (Sue) Jumping Eagle, Jr., Frankie Jumping Eagle, Antonio (Michelle) Hernandez, Jr., Leonard (Lexus) Jumping Eagle, Kermit Miner, Jr., George Chase Alone, Roger Jumping Eagle, Shane Mesteth, Zack Jumping Eagle, and Herman Good Voice Flute; Hunka children, Alice Phelps, Wesley New Holy, Paul Plume, Garfield Steele, Matt Hadden, and Scott Weston; siblings, Roberta (Sam) Spencer, Phillip (Sharon) Jumping Eagle, Sr., Georgia Jumping Eagle, Audrey Jumping Eagle, Starlette Jumping Eagle, and Delores Jumping Eagle; 46 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Rebecca Jumping Eagle and Robert Jumping Eagle, Sr.; daughter, Trinette Hernandez; sons, Roy Jumping Eagle, Thomas Black Eyes, and Robert Hernandez, Sr.; Hunka son, Charles Eagle Hawk; siblings, Hank Jumping Eagle, Robert W. Jumping Eagle, Robert “Ronnie” Joseph Jumping Eagle, Larry Jumping Eagle, Leonard Means and Elizabeth Ann Jumping Eagle; grandchildren, Harlie Jade Jumping Eagle and Frankie Jumping Eagle, Jr.; and great-grandson, Michael Ashley and Christian Brien.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Yellow Bull, Nason Backs, Dave Pourier, Kermit Miner, Sr., Shorty Brewer, Chris Eagle Hawk, Cliff Waters, Eddie Spencer, Lavern Yankton, and Bush Big Crow.
