Memorial services for 73-year old long-time Chadron, NE, resident William “Paul” Emick will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department.

William Paul Emick was born on Nov 7, 1950 in Scottsbluff, NE to William “Bill” and Helen Wood Emick. He passed away quietly on December 27 in Chadron.
Paul spent his childhood growing up in Scottsbluff, Lawrence KS, and Riverton WY. He was active in Boy Scouts and swim teams.
The family moved to Chadron in 1968 and Paul graduated from Chadron High School a year later and from Chadron State College with an Industrial Arts degree four years after that.
Through the years, Paul worked for his father in the Gambles store and for Dau Plumbing, Country General, and Henkens Implement.
Paul’s many hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, playing guitar, watching Husker football, repairing things and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed Sunday dinners at his mother’s every week and taking care of her in her advanced years.
Paul is survived by his sisters Lois (Jim) Fauerbach of Emporia, KS and Patricia Emick (Mark Leppert) of Kansas City, MO.
He is also survived by sister-in-law Pam Emick of Chadron, nieces and nephew Debra Fauerbach (Stewart Williams) of Shawnee, KS, Mark (Brenda) Fauerbach of Kansas City, MO, Diana (Rob) Himmelmann of Highlands Ranch, CO, Lisa (Victor) Guajardo and Tara Bates of Chadron and Nicole (Nick) Roberts of Kansas City, MO; great-nieces and -nephew Kiara Emick, Jacee Bates and RJ Bates of Chadron, Bianca and Jocelyn Himmelmann of Highlands Ranch, and Hailey and Emily Roberts of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Emick of Chadron.
