William Quick Bear was born on August 13, 1970 in Pine Ridge, SD to Virgil Quick Bear and Sandra Old Horse. William made his journey to the Spirit World on November 9, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
William served in the U.S. NAVY aboard the USS Kittyhawk Navy Ship. He was responsible for refueling fighter jets as they came back from missions. He served in the NAVY from 1989-1993. After he received his honorable discharge from the NAVY Willie was hired as a jailer at the Kyle Corrections Facility. Later on he was selected to a higher position to supervise and oversee the whole Kyle Corrections Facility. He worked in Law Enforcement for over 21 years.
Willie worked for IHS for 7 years as a Supply Specialist. Willie was a Sundancer for a number of years at John Around Himโs Sundance.
William is survived by his parents, Virgil Quick Bear and Sandra Old Horse; daughters, Evelyn and Emma; sons, William, Jr. and Angel Rae; grandchildren, Malcolm and Joelene; brother, Manuel Montoya; sisters, Briana Quick Bear and Sheralda Randall; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and relatives.
William was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Emma; paternal grandparents, Charles and Mollie; sisters, Tessie, Skuya, and Dakota; uncles, Jesse, Elmer, Wendell and Kenneth; and aunties, Bernadette and Velma.
Pallbearers will be Jude Running Shield, William Bettelyoun, Sr., Angel Old Horse, Rudy Reddest, Dode White Eyes, Tilden Reddest, J. Dwight Kills In Water, and Marlon White Feather

Wake Services: Two night wake services with the first night starting at 1:00 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Kyle Community Church. Second night starting at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 18, 2024 at the TNT Center in Wanblee, SD with evening services being held at 7:00 PM each night with Military Roll Call to follow on Monday evening.
Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the TNT Center in Wanblee, SD.
