Wind is blamed for a power outage that left 182 customers of Northwest Rural Public Power District on the table of southern Dawes County without electricity for a time late Wednesday afternoon.
The utility says the wind caused the power lines to bounce and flapping before contacting each other and causing a short at the Old Dunlap Road substation.
The outage began about 4:20 and service was restored to the last of the 182 customers by 6:00.
