Weather permitting, work will begin October 1 on the I-80 Sidney Westbound Rest Area near reference post 61, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Paul Reed Construction of Gering is the contractor for this project. Work includes the construction of a new rest area building. Traffic will not be permitted in the rest area. Anticipated completion is October 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
