The Nebraska School Activities Association has released the district assignments for boys and girls wrestling for the 2024-2025 season. Girls wrestling will have two classes A and B with four districts in each, while boys will stay with the traditional four classes, A, B, C, and D with four districts in each as well.
The Chadron Cardinals will be in class B for girls and will wrestle in Bayard in the B-4 district. Joining the Cardinals in the tournament Battle Creek, Bayard, Brady, Bridgeport, Chase County, Conestoga, Garden County, Gordon-Rushville, Gothenburg, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Hi-Line, Kimball, Leyton, Maxwell, Mitchell, Morrill, Ogallala, Paxton, Perkins County, Sandhills Valley, Sandhills/Thedford, Sidney, Sioux County, South Loup (Callaway/Arnold), South Platte, Southwest, Summerland, Sutherland, Valentine, Wauneta-Palisade, Winnebago. The girls district tournament will be on February 7th and 8th with the state tournament in Omaha being on Tuesday February 18th and the 19th with the finals starting at 5:30 pm on the 19th.
The Cardinals boys will be in Class C and wrestle in the C-3 tournament which will be hosted by Summerland. Joining the Cardinals will be Cedar Bluffs, Crofton/Bloomfield, Cross County/Osceola, Elkhorn Valley, Fillmore Central, Grand Island Central Catholic, Minden, ย North Bend Central, Pender, Pierce, Raymond Central, Red Cloud/Blue Hill, Summerland, Superior, Tri County Northeast. The tournament will be held on February 15th with the boys state tournament being from the 20th through the 22nd in Omaha.
