Wrong-Way Driver Killed In Rapid City

    Rapid City police say a driver was killed about 7:00 Monday night when she hit 3 vehicles while going the wrong way on a major city street.

No one else was injured and the woman’s name has not been released, pending notification of family.

      A police department release says the woman was westbound in the eastbound lanes of Catron Boulevard near Black Hills Boulevard when she hit an eastbound pickup, a van, and a second pickup. 

      The woman was trapped in her vehicle for a time. Police, fire and medical units were able to  extricate her and she was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she later died. 

     The Rapid City Police Department’s Critical Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
