Wyo 3A State Basketball: Douglas Boys & Girls Semifinal Bound


Of the three regional teams to enter this weekend’s Wyoming 3A girls state basketball tournament, Douglas was the only one to find themselves on the winning end after Thursday’s quarterfinals.

The Bearcats cruised over Mountain View 64-40 as they search for the 3rd straight state championships.

Newcastle squandered a 4th quarter lead against Lander and got sent to the consolation bracket with a 52-45 setback.

Douglas and Lander meet in the semifinals while Newcastle and Mountain View battle in the consolation semi’s.

Torrington led early and hung tight with Lyman until the 4th quarter of a 47-35 loss. The Trailblazers meet Pinedale in their consolation game.

Douglas is the only area boys team in the 3A tournament and needed a strong 2nd half to erase a deficit in a 58-47 win over defending champion Worland. Douglas plays Powell in today’s semifinals.
