Wyo Health Director Urging Everyone To Use Masks Indoors In 15 Counties

Wyoming State Health Officer Dr Alexia Harrist is urging both vaccinated and unvaccinated people to resume wearing masks indoors in most of the state due to an increase in infections from the delta variant of the coronavirus.

Dr Harrist, who is also the state epidemiologist, says 15 of Wyoming’s 23 counties have moderate to high virus transmission, so people in those 15 should wear masks indoors.

Cheyenne and Gillette are among the cities in the counties with the recommendation.

Harrist says only a third of Wyoming residents have received the COVID-19 vaccine, making the state more vulnerable to the delta variant.
