The Douglas boys and girls will both play for Wyoming 3A state championships today at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper.
The Douglas girls erased a four point 4th quarter deficit to go to their 3rd straight title game with a 41-38 win over Lander. The Bearcats will meet Lyman, a 37-33 winner over Buffalo.
Newcastle and Torrington advanced to the 5th place game with consolation wins on Friday. Newcastle has beaten Torrington three times previous this season including the 3rd place game in the 3A East regional.
The Douglas boys used a 18-5 3rd quarter to get past Powell 59-45 and earn their trip to the finals. Douglas meets the winner of Friday’s late game between Buffalo and Rawlins.
